So, my first shoot for Chanta’s Bitches went well.

So, that’s that. I am now home.

Sometimes I, The Fabulous Mz Berlin,  am overwhelmed by the surreality of my life and sometimes I embrace it. This week has been a bit of both.
Let me begin what is sure to be a long and pointless, but probably entertaining blog entry by saying that December is my least favorite month. I do, however, enjoy a nice fruitcake from Harry and David each December, which is what prevents me from jumping off of a bridge, dramatically, in a white dress, clinging to my books and poetry as I fade to black and white before I hit the water.
I have tried to escape December over the years by driving across the country, getting a corporate job, quitting a corporate job, flying across the international dateline, eating everything in sight and engaging in massive opiate intake. None have been wholly successful, although I do believe a combination of some may work in the future, if need be. I am working it out as I go.
This December I have decided Not to Ignore. I am working. I am cruising ahead. I am making lists of shit to do and crossing them off. I am making no radical decisions this holiday season. I have health insurance. My car insurance and student loans are paid far into the future. No crazy vacations.  I am pretending that it is January and all of my Christmas shopping is done. I’m having lasik three days before Christmas, which gives me an entirely different (and potentially life changing) reason to be all dramatic, and I will be expected by the Porno People to be out an about in the New Year as we ramp up to AVN.
Which is completely besides the point, but I’m happy to be trying a new thing this December. I’m going to get a lot of reading done. And hopefully continue to be productive on the web end of things. The time for a website has come.

I did my guest directing stint at The Factory and no one was worse for the wear. My bondage was at it’s best, and I believe that I was at my most flexible and comfortable during this go round. (Yes, this is even better than the Audrey Hollander BTS. Seriously. Good shit.) The name of the script was “Special Delivery”
Day 2 was Chad Rock and I fucked him up. He loved it. It was high tension from the moment he stepped on set and it was game on. My plan worked perfectly and my test subject met expectations and reacted appropriately. My outfit looked great and I’m happy that I ordered it. I love Kiss Me Deadly. I am waiting for the new collection to come out. I prepped more for this shoot than any other that I’ve done, I think, and it had a really good payoff. The script was called “Wanton Cruelty”.  I shot in the Hostel and the shoot was a tribute to one of my fave. BDSM writers, USB 2.0.

Then I got home. I talked to TMS and we made plans to get together today and so on and so forth and I checked my email and downloaded Keith Olberman and The News and Anderson Cooper and The Daily Show and sat down with Varla and my unopened mail when there was a large boom and bang and crash and twisted metal and excited people noise from outside and myself and two other neighbors ran out. I started going to each car and doing a visual inspection (There were two on our side of the road and one or two more on the other side of La Brea). No one needed the phone at the first car, and no one was injured. I got to car 2 and neighbor 1 is pulling people out of an upturned SUV. I do a visual inspection and get verbal confirmation from each person that they are OK and then I get to a gentleman that I will call Bob, for the sake of anonyminity. Bob had a bit of blood on his head, appeared a bit dazed and it looked like he had some glass in his hand. I told Bob to come with me and we’d wash his hand. No one else had any scratches or scrapes, that I had seen and I just thought he’d scraped it. We got to my house, which was less than 20 feet away, I get him in the bathroom, turn on the light, turn on the water, turn around to find a washcloth, turn back around to inspect what was going on in my sink and I find Bob trying to scrape what remained of his skin off of his bone on the underside of his hand. Bob is not OK. I look at his pupils for the first time and they’re saucers. I make him stop washing his hand. I tell him that I believe that he needs immediate medical attention and ask him if he would like to go to the hospital. He says yes.  I ask him if he has insurance. He says yes, and reaches for his wallet to show me. I tell him that I am not the person he needs to show his wallet to and he should not worry about that right now. I then ask him if he would like me to take him to the hospital or if he would like to wait for an ambulance. He tells me that he wants to go with me. I walk him back out, through the accident site and tell the people that were in the car with him that he needs to get to the hospital and explain to them that his hand is sheared. I don’t know how else to describe what it looked like, the blood swirling down my sink and his fingers cut at a sharp and long angle. I also let them know that I believe that he is going into shock. I tell them my full name. I put Bob in the car and off we go to Olympia medical center. He tells me that this is the second car he’s totaled in a week, that he’s afraid he’s fucked up his hand. I tell him I’ll sit with him, that they’ll probably lay him down and rinse it out and go from there, that they’ll give him morphine. He says he hasn’t been drinking. We get to the hospital,  He hops out, they whisk him past the desk and he is immediately taken into the back. I am asked to fill out his paperwork. I obviously can’t do this. I am given his cell phone. I call his brother, who was in the accident and tell him that I am at the hospital. His father calls, we fill out some of the paperwork.  The police come. They are looking for his I.D. They search my car for the wallet. I look in my car for his wallet. When the brother and the girlfriend arrive at the hospital close to 1 a.m. I am free to go.  I gave the brother a couple of klonopin for him and the girlfriend and tell them to get some sleep when they get home. I drive off. I look for the wallet on the sidewalk and at the accident scene. I don’t find it. The only place I don’t look is the parking lot. I watch Anderson Cooper and then fall asleep around two.
I am woken up at 3 am and 5 am by the LAPD, looking for Bobs’ wallet.
I am woken up at 9 am by Bobs’ dad, looking for the wallet.
I inform everyone that it is not here. After Bobs’ dad called, I got up and looked everywhere in the house and out in the parking lot. Not there.
I call Bobs’ dad back and tell him that there is no wallet to be found upon or around the grounds. He tells me that Bob is going into surgery right then.  He tells me that my good deed will be recognized in heaven.
I just figured that if I were in his position I would want to be as clost to morphine as possible, which involves the hospital. My dad says that that was all he worried about after he broke his leg in a motorcycle accident and that it took forever because of police and insurance and all of that, so he reckons I did the right thing. He also knows that I like to drive fast, with my hazards on, so perhaps it was a bit selfish on my part.
At any rate, I hope that it all turns out OK, and I figure someone will email me with an update.
Or perhaps it will be just another random event with no beginning or end that Just Happened.
If I am ever in a medically traumatic situation, please take me to the morphine.
If I am ever a vegetable, please pull my plug.
